Geochemistry 443: Principles of Geochemistry
Application of chemical principles to geologic processes.

Geochemistry 444: Introduction to Isotope Geochemistry
Principles of radiogenic isotope geochemistry and applications to geologic dating and to the petrogenesis of rock suites.

Geology 445: Volcanology
Study of volcanic processes, eruptive products and their mechanism of formation. Volcanic hazards and the environmental impact of volcanism. Field trips to nearby volcanic fields.

Geochemistry 550: Introduction to Analytical Methods in Geochemistry

Geochemistry 552: X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry
Theory and application of x-ray fluorescence to the analysis of geologic materials.

Geochemistry 553: Neutron Activation Analysis
Theory and application of neutron activation to the analysis of geologic materials

Geology 546: Advanced Volcanology
Seminar discussions of selected topics in volcanology, such as environmental impact of volcanism, magma chambers, emplacement of ignimbrites, volatiles in magmas, and volcanic processes and products.

Geology 571-0x Geology of New Mexico
Fourteen seminars will be presented primarily by members of the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources on topics related to the geology of New Mexico. The class will include 4 or 5 day field trips to examine the geology in the vicinity of Socorro.

Geology 592: Graduate Seminar
Seminar presentations by graduate students on their current research topics. M.S. students must present at least one seminar; Ph.D. students must present at least one seminar in each of two different semesters. Graded on S/U basis; credits earned may not be applied towards the 30 credits required for the M.S. degree.
