determine its evolution through geologic time.

Stratigraphy and Paleontology
Introduction to stratigraphic principles; survey of geologically important
invertebrate biota preserved as fossils; their modes of preservation, collection
techniques, taxonomy, paleobiology, paleoecology, and biotratigraphic utility.

Geology 480 & 483 - Field
Methods in Earth Science
Collection, processing, and interpretation of field data developed
by geologic mapping in sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic terrane. Presentation
of geologic reports involving maps, cross sections, and sample data.
