Flatbed Scanner in MSEC 345

The department owns an Epson Perfection 124OU flatbed scanner that
is available for use by faculty, staff, and students. It is located on
the East wall of MSEC 345 and is connected to the Macintosh computer in
that room.
Some features:

Optical resolution: 1,200 dpi

Color depth: 42-bit
Directions on how to use the scanner:

Check that the "Epson Perfection 124OU" flatbed scanner is on.

Lift the scanner cover and place your document or photograph face-down
on the glass.

Open up Adobe Photoshop using one of the following methods,

located on the desktop

located in Mac HD --> Applications --> Adobe Photoshop 6.0 --> Adobe Photoshop

Inside Photoshop go to File --> Import --> Epson Twain 5

The Epson Twain window will load. If it gives you an error message, turn
the scanner off, then on again. If you still get an error message, make
sure the scanner is on and restart the computer.

Make adjustments to the image by using the left menu. Make sure that the
right type of document is selected (i.e. color photo, black & white
document, text, etc.) and that the resolution you desire has been entered.

Press "scan" in the left menu to scan your image.

The image will be opened in Photoshop.

Save your image to a zip disk or folder that you can access later by going
to File --> Save As...

When you are finished please quit Adobe Photoshop.
