Where I Live
Richard C. Aster, Professor of Geophysics
I live in Socorro, New Mexico, just one block away from the verdant New Mexico Tech campus with my wife, Jan, and our two daughters, Ellen and Julie. Socorro is an affordable, student-friendly community of about 10,000 with a great climate, wonderful southwestern culture and food, and fabulous nearby outdoor recreation (see the Outdoor Receration Page) ranging from high desert to subalpine mountains! Jan and I are both active trail and long-distance runners as well, and participate in many races in the Socorro area and beyond.
