Registration

Registration is now closed.

Follow the instructions on this page to register for the technical program at the regular or student rate (if eligible). As a registered participant you may also:

  • register a companion who wishes to participate in the companion program
  • register for the post-conference field trip
  • reserve on-campus lodging (available for nights of July 15-21 only)

Regular and Student fees include the following:

  • admission to all symposia and technical sessions
  • Book of Abstracts
  • midweek field trip and full-color field guide
  • round-trip transportation between Albuquerque airport and Socorro
  • continental breakfast and lunch every day
  • dinner on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Companion fees include the following (companions must be accompanied by a participant who has registered at the full or student conference rate):

  • midweek field trip and full-color field guide
  • round-trip transportation between Albuquerque airport and Socorro
  • dinner on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • access to the Companion Program

Companions who want to attend technical sessions must register separately and pay the regular registration fee. (Note: Registered companions must be at least 12 years of age in order to participate in the field trips.)

*Student Rates and Scholarships

The scholarship application deadline has passed.

A limited number of scholarships will be available to cover registration fees of qualifed students. Preference will be given to students making either an oral or poster presentation. Click here for details and to apply. Students will be notified by May 1st if they will receive a scholarship. If they fail to receive a scholarship, they still qualify for the reduced student rate.

Proof of Student Status

Students not applying for a scholarship must provide independent proof of student status. Students qualify for the student rate only if they are currently enrolled at an accredited school or college. Students must provide proof of their academic status by either faxing (1-505-835-6436) or scanning and emailing (sdelap at nmt.edu) as an attachment one of the following:

  • Class schedule showing current enrollment status
  • Enrollment verification letter on official school letterhead signed by a school official or faculty representative
  • Student ID card showing date of current term

Post-Conference Field Trip

The 2.5-day field trip costs $225 for all participants. It includes the following:

  • transportation by chartered bus
  • lodging for two nights (double occupancy)
  • barbecue dinner on Friday night
  • three box lunches
  • full-color field guide

You must be registered as a regular, student, or companion participant in the technical meeting in order to attend the post-conference field trip. See field trip page for more details.

On-Campus Lodging

The deadline has passed to reserve on-campus lodging. More details on accomodations are here.

Cancellation Policy

If you have to cancel your reservation, please notify Susan Delap by email at sdelap at nmt.edu. Full refunds will be given if notice is received before 1 June 2006. For refund requests received between 1-15 June 2006, 50% of the registration fees will be refunded. There will be no refunds after 15 June 2006.

Liability Statement

The New Mexico Tech assumes no responsibility for loss or theft of personal property of Zeolite '06 (The Group) or any of its participants. The participants shall hold harmless the New Mexico Tech, its offices, and employees against any and all claims for loss, injury, or damage to persons or property, including claims of employees of the New Mexico Tech or its agents, arising out of activities conducted by The Group or its participants or in the New Mexico Tech buildings, properties, or facilities. The New Mexico Tech assumes no liability whatsoever for any property placed by The Group or its participants in the New Mexico Tech buildings on the New Mexico Tech properties.
