Click "File" and from the drop down menu select "Add Account".
In the new window that appears change "Account Type" to "IMAP".
For "Account Description" type "Bedrock".
For "Full Name" type your name.
For "Email Address" type <username>@bedrock.nmt.edu where <username> is your username.
Note When the mail server goes into production this will need to be changed to <username>@ees.nmt.edu.
Click "Continue".
On the new page for "Incomming Mail Server" type "bedrock.nmt.edu".
In the "Password" field type your password.
Click "Continue".
Apple Mail will now check your connection settings. This may take a minute or two.
When Apple Mail is done checking the configuration it will report back that the IMAP server is not responding, this is normal.
Click Continue.
Now you should see a check box next to "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)" make sure the box is checked.
Next Make sure that "Authentication:" is set to "Password".
Click Continue.
Now you should see the "Outgoing Mail Server" configuration page.
Type "bedrock.nmt.edu" in the "Outgoing Mail Server:"
Check the box next to "Use Authentication".
Enter your user name and password into the appropriate boxes.
Click Continue
Apple Mail will now check your connection settings this may take a minute or two.
When Apple Mail is done checking the configuration it will report back that your user name and password are incorrect, this is normal.
Click Continue
In the new window make sure the box next to "Use Secure Sockets Layers (SSL)" is checked.
Make sure that "Authentication" is set to "Password".
Click Continue
Click Continue again
Then click done.
Note that whenever you send or receive email, a box will pop up telling you that the certificate is not from a trusted host. This is normal behavior since we have a self-signed certificate
