Custom PowerPoint Templates for EES

Here are some PowerPoint templates that Susan Delap has designed for use by the Earth and Environmental Science department. They were created on a Windows system--Mac compatibility is unknown. To use them, download the *.pot file and put it in the folder where your custom templates are saved. See Note. (More designs will be added as Susan has time. If you have suggestions or pictures for more custom designs, just let her know.)

Detailed Instructions if you are unfamiliar with using custom templates.

Note: If you want the custom template to show up along with all your other templates when you first start PowerPoint, you need to put the file in the correct folder. If you don't care about this, just put the file wherever you want and double-click it to create a presentation using it.

Find the folder for Custom Templates:

PowerPoint 2000 (Windows 2K OS) will automatically select the correct folder where custom templates are saved. You'll see the folder name displayed in the "Save In" area on the Save As dialog box. Click the drop down arrow to expand the directory structure to see where the folder is on your hard disk and write it down. Then click Cancel and close PowerPoint.

To use the template, do the following:

A window should pop up with the design templates. You should see the name of the custom template you just downloaded. A blank slide will open that shows what the template looks like. Delete this slide unless you need a blank slide.

To create your title slide:

The title slide design is a little different from the rest of the slides to optimize titles. If you need to adjust the graphics on the title slide, select VIEW, MASTER, TITLE MASTER, and edit it as needed.

To create the rest of your slides:

To remove the template from a single slide:
