Petroleum Geoscience at New Mexico Tech
A number of geology and hydrology faculty at New Mexico Tech work on petroleum-related projects. In addition, there are other groups on campus that conduct petroleum-related research. The New Mexico Bureau of Mines and Mineral Resources has an active Oil and Gas Program.  In addition, New Mexico Tech has one of the top rated Petroleum Engineering Departments in the US and houses the Petroleum Recovery Research Center (PRRC). The PRRC is a soft-money organization that focuses on enhanced recovery technology. New Mexico Tech also has a prominent role in the Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA) –– a non-profit corporation composed of a consortium of premier U.S. Energy entities.  Information about specific research interests in petroleum geology can be found on the appropriate faculty home pages.
