GSA 1995 abstract , paper in prep.
Geologic map of the Joyita Hills
These photos show the a view parallel and normal to the lineation in the same outcrop.
Mafic xenolith elongate parallel to the stretching lineation.
Strongly lineated massive gneiss.
Comparatively undeformed pods, elongate parallel to the stretching lineation. View normal to L.
Contact between massive gneiss (bottom) and megacrystic gniess (top). The lineation in both gneisses is parallel (and intepreted to be the same). Note how the megacrystic gneiss cuts the lineation developed in the massive gneiss.
