Tara Mayeau won the Brown Award for top undergraduate student at NMT. She received a BS in geophysics with highest honors. Jayme Margolin, MS student in geochemistry, and Lisa Majkowski-Taylor, MS student in geology, won student appreciation awards. Hydrology professor and EES Chair Rob Bowman received the Distinguished Research Award. Phil Turner, who received his BS in Earth & Environmental Science-Geology, received the Jeremiah Wright Memorial Trophy for Player of the Year 2005-2006 in the Rugby Club. Wilson Elected PresidentFebruary 15, 2006 -- Congratulations to John Wilson on being elected president of the Hydrology Section of the American Geophysical Union in 2006 (President-Elect 2006-2008 and President 2008-2010). The Hydrology Section is the largest division of AGU, with over 6,000 members. It is this membership that chose John for their next president. NMT news release. Vivoni Teaches Short CourseJanuary 14, 2006 -- Enrique Vivoni was featured in El Defensor Chieftain regarding the short course he recently taught with Italian professor Salvatore Grimaldi from January 9-13, 2006. The course was titled "H2CU-NMT Winter School on Time Series Analysis for Hydrological Applications." Fourteen people participated including nine NMT graduate students.
