Directions to El Malpais Lava Flows

• I25-N

• exit at Los Lunas and take left turn onto 6 W (or N?)

• merge onto I40-W

• exit 81 (2nd grants exit) to 53 (going south-west)

• drive ~25 miles to ice caves (big sign near turnoff to the left)

• after ice caves turnoff, continue 1.1 miles on 53 to first road on the left. on the way there you will pass the continental divide and milemarker 60

• turn left onto dirtroad and continue for 1 mile to the base of cerro bandera, the 2nd mountain. Receiver is straight up cerro bandera in a larger clearing, about halfway to the top.
